Dhaka's rail communication with Chittagong was snapped as a bogie of a train derailed in Tongi area under Gazipur City Corporation on Tuesday.

The accident happened at about 10:30am.

Three bogies of a Dhaka-bound of freight train veered off the track in the area, said Airport Railway Station master Md Halimuzzaman.

Soon after the accident, the communication of Dhaka with Chattogram halted.

However, no causality was reported.
