Global COVID-19 cases top 229.92m, deaths 4.71m [image collected]

The overall global Covid-19 caseload has topped 229.92 million, while the deaths have surged to more than 4.71 million, according to data from the worldometer.

In its latest update on Tuesday (Sep 21, 5:00pm Bangladesh Time), the data revealed that the current global caseload and death toll stood at 229,923,565 and 4,715,707 respectively.

Besides, a total of 206,616,458 people recovered worldwide from the disease, according to data from the worldometer.

A total of 220 countries and territories and two international conveyances have been infected in the deadly disease.

In USA, 43,107,628 people have tested positive for the virus. Of them, 694,619 people have died and 32,675,982 people have recovered.

In Brazil, 21,247,667 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 591,034 have died and 20,280,294 recovered.

In India, 33,504,534 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 445,416 people have died and 32,749,574 people have recovered.

In Mexico, 3,573,044 have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Of them, 271,765 died and 2,934,610 recovered from the disease.

In Peru, 2,167,652 people have tested positive for Covid-19. Of them, 199,036 have died.

In Russia, 7,313,851 people have tested positive for Covid-19. Of them, 199,808 have died and 6,526,111 people have recovered.

In Indonesia, 4,195,958 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 140,805 patients have died and 4,002,706 people have recovered.

In UK, 7,465,448 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 135,252 patients have died and 6,010,879 people have recovered.

In Italy, 4,638,516 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 130,354 people have died and 4,395,648 people have recovered. 

In Colombia, 4,942,249 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Of them, 125,924 people have died and 4,781,654 people have recovered.

In France, 6,956,848 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 116,050 patients have died and 6,649,658 patients have recovered.

In Iran, 5,459,796 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Of them, 117,905 patients have died and 4,819,223 patients have recovered. 

In Argentina, 5,241,394 people have tested positive for Covid-19. Of them, 114,518 patients have died and 5,099,157 people have recovered.

In Germany, 4,157,113 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 93,632 patients have died and 3,909,300 have recovered.

In Spain, 4,935,534 patients have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Of them, 85,901 have died and 4,672,102 patients have recovered. 

In South Africa, 2,884,134 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 86,216 patients have died and 2,735,340 people have recovered.

In Poland, 2,899,008 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of them, 75,503 patients have died and 2,659,952 people have recovered.
 
In Bangladesh, 1,545,800 people have tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 27,277 people died and 1,504,709 patients have recovered.

The World Health Organization declared the coronavirus crisis a pandemic on March 11 last year.
