Dengue: 2 die, 182 hospitalised in last 24-hr

The country reported two deaths and 182 fresh dengue cases in last 24 hours till Tuesday morning (Oct 12), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

With this, the number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease reached 80 this year.

In the 24 hours, 143 dengue patients were hospitalised in Dhaka and 39 other people in other places across the country, said the DGHS release.

Some 916 patients diagnosed with dengue fever are receiving treatment in the country as of Tuesday morning. Of them, 742 patients were receiving treatment in 46 government and private hospitals in Dhaka while the remaining 174 were undergoing treatment outside Dhaka.

Some 20,518 patients have been admitted to different hospitals with dengue since January while 19,522 patients have returned home after recovery.
