Dengue: 2 die, 211 hospitalised in last 24-hr

The country reported two deaths and 211 fresh dengue cases in last 24 hours till Wednesday morning (Oct 13), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

With this, the number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease reached 82 this year.

In the 24 hours, 163 dengue patients were hospitalised in Dhaka and 48 other people in other places across the country, said the DGHS release.

Some 928 patients diagnosed with dengue fever are receiving treatment in the country as of Tuesday morning. Of them, 766 patients were receiving treatment in 46 government and private hospitals in Dhaka while the remaining 162 were undergoing treatment outside Dhaka.

Some 20,729 patients have been admitted to different hospitals with dengue since January while 19,719 patients have returned home after recovery.
