Seven passengers were killed and some other injured as a passenger bus hit a parked truck in Chel Ghat area of Mymensingh’s Trishal on Saturday.

The deceased were identifed as Fazlul Haque Ajmul, 32, Md Siraj, 35, Fatema Begum, 25, Abdullah, 6, Ajmina, 8, Nazrul Islam, 50, and Helena, 40.

Trishal Police Station OC Main Uddin told Banglanews that a Dhaka-bound hit the truck in the area around 3.15pm, leaving six dead on the spot.

Four of the injured were taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where another one succumed to his injuries.

Selim Mia Sanan, duty officer of Mymensingh Fire Service, said being informed by locals, a unit was sent to the spot. 

Rescue operation was underway, he added.
