The country reported one death and 183 fresh dengue cases in last 24 hours till Saturday morning (Oct 16), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

With this, 83 died from the mosquito-borne disease this year.

In the 24 hours, 141 dengue patients were hospitalised in Dhaka and 42 other people in other places across the country, said the DGHS release.

Some 869 patients diagnosed with dengue fever are receiving treatment in the country as of Tuesday morning. Of them, 688 patients were receiving treatment in 46 government and private hospitals in Dhaka while the remaining 181 were undergoing treatment outside Dhaka.

Some 21,201 patients have been admitted to different hospitals with dengue since January while 20249 patients have returned home after recovery.
