The country reported 201 fresh dengue cases in last 24 hours till Sunday morning (Oct 17), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

So far 83 died from the mosquito-borne disease this year.

In the 24 hours, 140 dengue patients were hospitalised in Dhaka and 61 other people in other places across the country, said the DGHS release.

Some 844 patients diagnosed with dengue fever are receiving treatment in the country as of Tuesday morning. Of them, 651 patients were receiving treatment in 46 government and private hospitals in Dhaka while the remaining 193 were undergoing treatment outside Dhaka.

Some 21,402 patients have been admitted to different hospitals with dengue since January while 20475 patients have returned home after recovery.
