At least 443 people were killed and 868 others injured in 402 accidents on roads, railways and waterways during 15 days around Eid-ul-Fitr, said a report of Passenger Welfare Association of Bangladesh on Thursday.
During the time, according to the report, 416 people died and 844 injured in 372 road accidents while 25 killed and 304 injured in 27 train accidents and two killed and 20 others injured in three accidents on waterways.
PWAB report says motorcycles are at the top of the list of accidents as 145 people were killed and 110 injured in 164 motorcycle accidents.
Secretary-General of the organisation Md Mozammel Haque Chowdhury disclosed the information during a press briefing regarding "Road Accidents During Eid-2022" at the Dhaka Reporters Unity.
The report was prepared monitoring news published between 26 April and 10 May in national dailies, local newspapers and online portals.
