The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 51 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs during anti-drug operations in different areas of the capital city over the past 24 hours till 6:00 am Wednesday (June 29).

Detectives and the law enforcers jointly made the arrest and seized illegal drugs from their possession.

The DMP seized 25,734 Yaba tablets, 124.897gm hemp, 50 puria (small packet) of heroin and 105 bottles of phensedyl from their possessions, a DMP statement said.

Being informed, members of Detectives and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) conducted a 24-hour long raid and detained the drug trades from various places, it also said. 

According to the statement, a total of 36 cases have been filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
