Two Cousins drowned in a pond in Sundarganj of Gaibandha on Friday (July 1).

The deceased were identified as Ahsan Mia (5) son of Mohammad Ali of Dakshin Sams village in Sreepur union of Ahsan upazila and Bayezid Hossain (4) son of Ashraful Islam of Bayezid Khamar Dhubani village.

Locals said Bayazid went to bathe in the pond with Ahsan. At one stage, Bayazid drowned in the the pond. Trying to save brother, they both drowned.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Sundarganj Police Station Sarkar Iftekharul Mokaddem confirmed the matter.
