Police recovered the slit-throat bodies of a woman and her son from their home at Araihazar upazila in Narayanganj district on Sunday (July 3, 2022).

The deceased were identified as Razia Sultana (42), wife of late Awal Nabi, and their son Talha (8).

Azizul Haque Hawlader, officer-in-charge (OC) of Araihazar Police Station said that the incident might occur anytime during the night. 

On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies, he said.

According to the primary investigation, the OC said someone known to the victims was behind the murder. 

The exact reason is still not identified, he said, adding that as investigation is underway, details will be revealed later.
