A woman and her 7-year-old daughter were killed when a cattle-laden truck ran over them at Boalmari upazila in Faridpur on Sunday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Suporna Biswas (30), wife of Probir Biswas, a resident of Tangrail village of the upazila and her daughter Prottasha Biswas.

Local people said that both mother and daughter were going to Tangrail village by a van. On the way, a cattle-laden truck hit their van from behind around 2 pm leaving them dead on the spot, they added.

Assistant Police Super, Suman Kar, (Madhukhali, Boalmari and Alfadanga circle) said, "We already sent police to the spot and are working to take necessary action in this regard."
