The government has restricted carrying motorcycles on water vessels for five days before and after Eid-Ul-Azha.

The Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) on Wednesday (July 7th) issued the instructions in this regard.

Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Shipping Jahangir Alam Khan has confirmed this information and said the government is very strict in controlling the movement of motorcycles. 

He said the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges has already instructed that motorcycles will not be allowed to move from one district to another for seven days before and after Eid.

Besides, moving motorcycles in recently launched Padma Bridge has also been banned until further notice.
