The tourists in Patuakhali’s Kuakata have been suffering as the owners of hotels and restaurants in the area started an indefinite strike on Wednesday (Aug 17) morning protesting frequent raids of mobile court.

Salim Munshi, President of Kuakata Food Hotel Owners Association, announced this on Aug 15.

Md Selim Mia, president of Food Hotel-Restaurant Owners Association, said that they have been forced to keep their hotels and restaurants shut.

He also said that the hotels and restaurants will remain closed until the administration gives any solution to this end.

While talking about the allegations of owners, Kalapara Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abu Hasnat Mohammad Shahidul Haque said mobile courts are being conducted so that tourists would not face any cheating in Kuakata.

He also urged them to reopen the hotels.
