DHAKA: Bangladeshi filmmaker MB Manik was killed in a terror attack in the USA Wednesday noon. 

A gang of criminals came to his shop and claimed extortion.They locked into an altercation and later the criminals shot him.

Manik’s film production house Avi Kathachitra confirmed this mater to banglanews.

Manik has been living in the USA since last December. He was running a shop over there.

Avi Kathachitra manager Swapan Babu told banglanews that we are trying to bring his dead body to the country. We have yet to get detailed information.

MB Manik started his filmmaking career as an assistant director in 1990s. His maiden direction was ‘Durdharsha’.

Later, he directed ‘Kathin Prem’, ‘Ek Takar Denmahar’, ‘Jaan Amaar Jaan’, ‘Jaan Korban’, ‘Bolo Na Tumi Amaar’, ‘Prem Kayedi’, etc.

His latest direction was ‘Durdharsha Premik’.

The deceased left his wife and three children behind.
