GAZIPUR: Readymade garment workers on Thursday (Nov 1) morning vandalized more than 10 factories in Gazipur following the rumor of a fellow worker's murder for theft. 

The workers said that the victim will be brought to them in the morning but it was delayed. 

Afterwards, the agitators carried out vandalism in some fifteen factories including Jamuna Garments, Tusuka Garments, Keya Spinning Mills, Delta Spinning Ltd, MoonTex, Multi Fabrics and Delta Composit.

Gazipur industrial police Konabari zone Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Md Sohel Rana told Banglanews workers of Mitali Fashion Ltd in Hatimara area earlier spread a rumor that a worker of the factory was beaten to death.

However, on information, police rushed to the scene to tame the workers.

The workers earlier also staged agitation Wednesday (Oct 31) evening, over the incident.
