DHAKA: Commander Abdur Rauf, the 35th accused of Agartala Conspiracy Case, breathed his last at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in city early Friday.
Acting secretary general of Sector Commanders’ Forum Harun Habib confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Rauf’s body has been taken to his village home in Bhairab upazila of Kishoreganj district around 12:45pm.
He will be buried at the familial graveyard after nama-e-janaza.
The infamous Agartala Conspiracy Case was filed against 35 people, including Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, in the January of 1968. Abdur Rauf was the 35th accused.
Later, the then Pakistan government was forced to withdraw the case on 22 February 1969 in the face of mass movement.
