DHAKA: The Government has appointed SM Abul Kalam as the next Ambassador of Bangladesh to Kuwait.

A press release from Foreign Ministry made the disclosure on Sunday.

Abul Kalam is a renowned business person, social worker and a well-known political figure.

In his distinguished career, Kalam served as the President of the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He also served as the Director of Agrani Bank and as a Member of Chittagong Stock Exchange.

Kalam was also the member of Chittagong Development Authority. In political career, Kalam is currently serving as the Vice President of Chittagong (South) Awami League.

Kalam obtained B.Sc from the University of Dhaka. In personal life, Kalam is married and blessed with a son and two daughters.
