Asad made Philippines ambassador

DHAKA: The government has decided to appoint Asad Alam Siam, as the next ambassador of Bangladesh to the Republic of the Philippines.

He will be replacing Major General John Gomes, psc.

Asad Alam Siam, a career diplomat, joined foreign service in 1995.

Currently he is serving as Chief of Protocol in the ministry. Before taking over as Chief of Protocol, he served as Director General in charge of Europe Wing in the Ministry.

In his distinguished diplomatic career, he served as the Consul General of Bangladesh in Milan, Italy and as the assistant high commissioner of Bangladesh in Manchester, UK.

He also served in Bangladesh Missions in Jakarta and Bangkok in different capacities.

Asad Alam Siam did his graduation in Architecture from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET). He also did MBA from Maastricht School of Management, the Netherlands.

He is married and blessed with a daughter.
