DHAKA: Former President of Bangladesh Mohila Awami League and freedom fighter Ashrafunnesa Mosharraf passed away in a city hospital on Friday (Jan 18) morning. She was 74.
The former MP breathed her last around 8:15am at Square Hospital where she has been undergoing treatment due to kidney-related ailments, said a press release signed by AL Office Secretary Abdus Sobhan Golap today.
She left behind three sons, four daughters and a host of relatives, colleagues and well wishers to mourn her death.
In a condolence message, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed her deepest shock at the death of former President of Bangladesh Mohila Awami League.
She also prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and expressed her deep sympathy towards the bereaved family members.
In a separate message, AL general secretary Obaidul Quader also expressed his deep shock and sorrow at the death of Ashrafunnesa Mosharraf.
