Bandarban administration cordial to develop tourism

BANDARBAN: Bandarban deputy commissioner Dilip Kumar Banik said his administration is cordial for the development of tourism in the area.

Most of the tourism related establishments in Bandarban were set up by the district administration, he added.

Dilip Kumar Banik was addressing a two-day discussion on the prospect of tourism in Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT).

Country’s leading online news portal Banglanews24.com has organized discussion at DC office conference room on Friday morning (October 21).

“Many government and non-government establishments related to tourism are being set up in the area. They are all following the footsteps of the district administration.”

“The administration, actually, is providing all kinds of support including infrastructural ones for the development of tourism,” he added.

He further mentioned that the fame of Bandarban district has reached beyond the border of Bangladesh.

Dilip Banik also said several ethnically minor communities live here and their lifestyle has attracted many tourists from across the globe.

Earlier, Banglanews editor-in-chief Alamgir Hossain presided over the two-day discussion.

Dhaka University tourism and hospitality management department chairman Professor Dr Shaker Ahmed, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) civil and environment engineering department Professor Zahir Bin Alam, Chittagong University geography and environment science department Professor Mohammad Mohibullah and Hiamul Islam and reptile specialist Shariar Rahman Sizar are present in the discussion.
