DHAKA: The Wage Board finalized the new wage structure for readymade garment workers at Tk 5,300 at entry-level from the current pay scale of Tk 3,000.

The Wage Board fixed the salary structure in its 9th meeting on Monday morning.

Besides, the representatives of readymade garment owners did not sign the wage structure of the wage board.

After the meeting, Chairman of the wage board AK Roy the minimum wage Tk 5,300 was finalized by the votes of the members of the board.

He added: “The draft proposal will be sent to the ministry concerned. As per the law, the owners are compelled to pay the new salary structure after sending it to the ministry.”
