Bourses see fall Sunday

DHAKA: Investors witnessed sharp fall in the benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Sunday.

The DSE key index shed over 71 points to stand at 4,324 at the close on the first trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 155,297 with transaction at Tk 6,590 million.
    
Of the issues traded, 55 advanced, 229 declined and 10 remained unchanged.

PTL topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk228 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were JAMUNAOIL, GENNEXT, BENGALWTL, MPETROLEUM, RNSPIN, UNITEDAIR, PADMAOIL, CENTRALPHL and GOLDENSON.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8493 by dropping over 106 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 39 gained, 174 declined and eight remained unchanged.
