Jewellers hiked gold prices by Tk 1,516 per bhori on Saturday (April 1) which set a new record, with each bhori now priced at Tk99,144 in Bangladesh. 

The new price will be effective from Sunday (April 2), said a press release of Bangladesh Jewellers' Association (BAJUS) today. 

Earlier on March 23, the gold price in the local market was jumped by Tk 1,166 to record Tk 97,627 per bhori.

The price of 18-carat gold was fixed at Tk 6,850 a gram while that of traditional gold at Tk 5,705 a gram.

The price of 22-carat silver was Tk 147 per gram while 21-carat Tk 140 and the price was Tk 120 per gram of 18-carat silver and Tk 90 for traditional one.
