Stocks witness fall Sunday

DHAKA:  Investors witnessed sharp fall in benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Sunday.

The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX, shed over 83 points only to stand at 4,147 at the close on the first trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 94,379 with volume of transactions at Tk 3,486 million.

Of the issues traded, 57 advanced, 207 declined and 18 remained unchanged.

DELTALIFE topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 333 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were RNSPIN, MPETROLEUM, PTL, ENVOYTEX, GENNEXT, JAMUNAOIL, CENTRALPHL, BDBUILDING and BENGALWTL.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8,108 by dropping over 173 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 27 gained, 177 declined and nine remained unchanged.
