Bourses see fall Wednesday

DHAKA: Investors witnessed sharp fall in the benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Wednesday.

The key index of Dhaka Stocks Exchange, DSEX, shed over 30 points to stand at 4,240 at the close on the fourth trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 119,129 with transaction at Tk 4826 million.
    
Of the issues traded, 56 advanced, 209 declined and 31 remained unchanged.

GENNEXT topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 364 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were LANKABAFIN, ARGONDENIM, GOLDENSON, DELTALIFE, ENVOYTEX, RNSPIN, PTL, SALAMCRST and RDFOOD.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8,326 by dropping over 70 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 37 gained, 162 declined and 20 remained unchanged.
