DHAKA: The main accused of Bismillah Group scandal former Deputy Managing Director of Jamuna Bank and also former manager of Prime Bank of Motijheel Branch Mojammel Hossain was held by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Monday.

Leading a special drive, an Inspector of ACC Mahbubur Rahman along with his team held Mojammel from city’s Segunbagicha area around 3:10pm.

ACC sources said Mojammel was arrested for his alleged involvement in Bismillah Group’s Tk 1,200 scandal while he was the Manager of Jamuna Bank of Motijheel Branch.

However, ACC, in this connection, filed a case in November last year against 53, in which, 40 were bank officials.

ACC Deputy Director (Public Relation) Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told banglanews remand would be sought to the court against him in this regard.
