Bangladesh Jeweller's Association (BAJUS) President Sayem Sobhan Anvir today (Aug 7) welcomed the process of forming an interim government led by Nobel Laureate Dr Muhammad Yunus.
In his statement, he said that BAJUS, representing 25 lakh employees and 40 thousand businesspeople involved in the country’s jewellery industry, would provide the maximum support to the interim government.
Sayem Sobhan Anvir hoped that the Bangladesh Army would soon help restore public order and ensure the safety of business organisations and factories.
BAJUS also condoles the families that have lost near and dear ones during the recent countrywide student-led anti-government demonstrations.
The jewellers’ association demands fair trial for the killings and injuries during the mass upsurge, and also asks authorities to provide necessary financial assistance to the affected families, Anvir said in his statement issued on behalf of BAJUS.
