The price of gold in Bangladesh has increased again within five days due to a rise in the price of pure gold in the local market.
The new prices will be effective from Thursday, December 19.
As per the revised rates announced by the Bangladesh Jewellers' Association (BAJUS), the price of 22-carat gold per bhori (11.664 grams) has been raised by Tk 2,088, setting the new price at Tk 140,586.
BAJUS in its press release said 21-carat gold, price per bhori has been raised by Tk 1,994 to Tk 134,194, while, the price of 18-carat gold has been increased by Tk 1,714 to Tk 115,030, and traditional gold by Tk 1,458 to Tk 94,478.
However, the price of silver remains unchanged.
The price of 22-carat silver per bhori is Tk 2,578, 21-carat is Tk 2,449, 18-carat is Tk 2,111, and traditional silver is priced at Tk 1,586.
