Stocks witness fall Monday

DHAKA:  Investors witnessed minor fall in benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Monday.

The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX, shed over 19 points only to stand at 4,608 at the close on the second trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 96,671with volume of transactions at Tk 5,054 million.

Of the issues traded, 80 advanced, 184 declined and 25 remained unchanged.

GP topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 626 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were SQURPHARMA, PADMAOIL, OLYMPIC, HEIDELBCEM, MPETROLEUM, BSC, BSCCL, SINGERBD and MERCANBANK.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8941 by dropping over 17 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 49 gained, 158 declined and 12 remained unchanged.
