DHAKA: Bangladesh Bank (BB) has prohibited loan disbursement in three branches of state-owned specialized Basic Bank after a day of sacking its managing director Kazi Fakhrul Islam over scam.

Bangladesh Bank authorities said the prohibition order only for temporary basis.

The branches are capital’s Dilkusha, Shantinagar and Gulshan.

BB assistant spokesperson AFM Asaduzzaman confirmed the matter to banglanews. 

On Sunday, managing director of Basic Bank Fakhrul Islam was sacked on charge of massive irregularities and financial scam.
