Shahjalal Bank director arrested

DHAKA: Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) arrested director of Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited, Md Soliman, from city’s Bijoy Sarani area on Wednesday noon.

Sources said to banglanews that a team of ACC led-by its assistant director Rafiqul Islam in a special drive picked up him from Akram Tower of that area around 12:30pm.

He was accused in a case for loan embezzlement with ACC, sources added.

ACC deputy director (Public Relations) Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said that Shahjalal Islami bank filed case against Soliman for embezzling TK. 140 crore. ACC is now waiting to take him on remand after court’s order.
