DHAKA: Leaders of the county's real estate sector called upon all political parties Wednesday to save the country's vital industry from catastrophe as the sector has already counted Tk 792 crore in losses for the last 23 days of blockade.

Besides, the sector has been suffering a loss of Tk 36 crore everyday since the beginning of nationwide blockade.

Real Estate & Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) revealed a report with the estimate at a press conference in city’s National Press Club on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the report, the total amount of loss in last 23 days of the ongoing blockade, starting from January 5, is Tk 792 crore.

REHAB general secretary M Wahiduzzaman, in the written statement, said that movements like blockade should be avoided for life and livelihood.

However, a recent report of Bangladesh Insurance Association (BIA) said that the country’s entire economy has been suffering a loss of Tk 1,600 crore everyday due to the blockade.
