RAJSHAHI: Bashundhara Group, leading business conglomerate of the country, on Wednesday donated cash to nine people, including two children who are victims of arson attack.

They are under treatment in the burn unit of Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital.

Each of the victims was donated Tk 20,000 in the afternoon.

Bangla daily ‘Kalerkantho’ Rajshahi bureau chief Rafiqul Islam and staff photojournalist Salauddin, another daily ‘Bangladesh Pratidin’ Rajshahi correspondent Kazi Shahed and its Rajshahi University correspondent Jayasree Bhaduri, news portal Banglanews24.com staff correspondent Sharif Sumon and photojournalist of a local daily ‘Sonar Desh’ were among others present on the occasion.

However, the victims sustained burn injuries in petrol bomb attacks in Rajshahi and Chapainawabganj districts.

The victims and their family members thanked Bashundhara Group for its humanitarian aid during the prevailing political unrest in the country.
