Stocks see fall at opening

DHAKA: Share price indices at the country’s both bourses --- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) slipped in early hours of trading on Monday.

DSEX, the Broad Index of the DSE, went down by 69.849 points or 1.72 per cent to 3977.43 after the first one-hour of trade at 11:28am.

Trade deals stood at 21253 with volume of transactions at Tk 723.94 million.

Of the issues traded till then, 44 advanced, 180 declined and21 remained unchanged.

UPGDCL was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 95.27 million changing hands till then followed by ACIFORMULA, ACI, BSRMLTD, IFADAUTOS and LAFSURCEML.

The port city bourse – Chittagong Stocks Exchange (CSE) – also witnessed downward trend in early hour with its Selective Category Index losing 59.06 points to 7489.91, also at 11:25am.

Of the issues traded till then, 26 gained, 75 declined and 11 remained unchanged.
