Founded by Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan, the non-profit organisation has been distributing interest-free loans among the poor without any service charge since 2005. Although Bashundhara Foundation started its loan journey in Bancharampur upazila, it gradually expanded its activities to Homna and Nabinagar upazilas.
