The government has increased the prices of rawhide by Taka 7 per square foot than to the previous year ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
The prices of raw cowhide have been fixed at Taka 47-52 per square foot in the capital and Taka 40-44 outside Dhaka.
The decision came from an online meeting on Tuesday (July 5) with commerce minister Tipu Munshi in the chair.
The prices of goatskins have been fixed at Taka 18-20 per square foot across the country while that of she-goat at Taka 12-14, said the minister.
Last year, the price of salted cow rawhide was fixed at Tk40-45 per square foot in Dhaka and Taka 33-37 per square foot outside of the capital.
Besides, the price of goat hide was set at Taka 15-17 per square foot while it was Taka 12-14 per square foot of female goat hide across the country.
