Bangladesh Jewellers’ Association (BAJUS) has been unequivocal in opposing ornament trading in the local market by the foreign investors.

BAJUS leaders at a programme in Sylhet said foreign investment in jewellery industry will be beneficial to the upgradation of the sector.

If the foreign investors want to sell products in the host country, they will have to do it through local jewellers, BAJUS said.

Leaders of the Bangladesh Jewellers’ Association requested the Prime Minister and Commerce Minister to take necessary step in this regard.
