Two members of Dhaka University (DU) based "Proloy gang" were arrested for allegedly assaulting a fellow student inside the campus on Saturday night.

The arrestees are Naimur Rahman Durjoy of Anthropology Department and Foysal Ahmed Sakib of International Business Department, students of 2020-21 academic session.

Shahabag Police Station officer-in-charge Noor Mohammad confirmed the matter.

He said the two students were sent to court after arrest on Sunday night as the victim's mother filed a complaint.

Earlier, a DU student Zubaer Ibne Humayun was beaten up in front of the Kobi Jasim Uddin Hall of the university on Saturday (March 25) night.
