Seminar on Bangladesh's economy at Columbia University on September 21

A seminar titled "Bangladesh Economy: Opportunity and Challenges" will be organised at Columbia University, Manhattan in New York on September 21.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will give a recorded video speech as the chief guest at the seminar.

Bangladesh Pratidin, the highest circulated Bengali daily in Bangladesh will organise the seminar with its Editor and eminent media personality Naem Nizam in the chair.

Foreign Minister Dr A K Momen will be present as the special guest at the seminar where Professor Emeritus at Dhaka University and former Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Atiur Rahman will present the keynote. 

The seminar will be moderated by Dr Birupaksha Paul, Professor of State University of New York and former Chief Economist of Bangladesh Bank while panelist discussants will be Prof Nazrul Islam, former UN Chief of Development Research Team, Prof Farida Khan, Professor of Colorado University, Dr Sufian A Khandaker, Water and Environmental Specialist, Dr Golam Matbar, Senator MD Masudur Rahman of the Connecticut State Senate, Professor and Director, and State Representative (New Hampshire) Abul B Khan.

Besides, Bangladesh Pratidin North America edition's Executive Editor Lablu Ansar coordinated the event.

Valiant freedom fighters, students, and other distinguished personalities will also attend the seminar that is scheduled to begin at 10 am and continue until 1 pm.
