The admission test of Dhaka University's Business Studies unit under the Faculty of Business Studies of Dhaka University (DU) for the 2023-24 academic session was held today (February 24) in all eight divisions.
The one and half hour test was held simultaneously in eight divisional cities of the country including DU from 11am to 12:30pm where a total of 37,681 students applied to vie against 1040 seats with 36 students against each seat.
"The examination was held peacefully and there was no news of any untoward incident. The test was conducted in a transparent and orderly manner following the rules properly", said DU Vice-Chancellor Professor ASM Maksud Kamal after visiting the exam halls.
Like previous years, the intake tests are being held in all eight divisions of the country to minimize the sufferings of the candidates and their parents, said VC, adding, "University authorities, law enforcement agency members and other concerned authorities were super alert to avoid any kind of untoward incident".
Pro-VC (Administration) Prof Dr Mohammad Samad, Pro-VC (Academic) Prof Sitesh Chandra Bachar, Treasurer Prof Mumtaz Uddin Ahmed, Business studies unit Admission Test Coordinator and business faculty dean Professor Abdul Moin and others concerned visited the entrance examination centre.
A total of 26,110 students attended the examination at 59 centres of Dhaka University campus while the remaining 11,569 students sat for the exam from other seven divisional cities.
In the 100-mark question, examinees have to answer a set of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQ) for 60 marks and a written part worth 40 marks.
The admission test for science (A unit) will be held on March 1 and the test for fine arts (general knowledge and drawing) is scheduled for March 9.
