10 DU teachers in global list of top 2% scientists

Ten teachers from the University of Dhaka (DU) have been recognized in the top 2% of scientists worldwide, according to a study conducted by Stanford University and the Dutch academic publishing organization Elsevier.

The university's Vice Chancellor, Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan, congratulated the faculty members for their achievement and praised DU for fulfilling its commitment to providing quality education and promoting the pursuit of knowledge, as stated in a university release on Sunday.

The selected faculty members are Prof. Dr. Nepal Chandra Roy (Mathematics), Prof. Dr. Md. Kausar Ahammad (Oceanography), Prof. Dr. Kazi Matin Uddin Ahmed (Geology), Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ferdous (Applied Mathematics), Prof. Dr. Mohammad Mizanur Rahman (Applied Chemistry), Associate Prof. Dr. Taslim-ur-Rashid (Applied Chemistry), Prof. Dr. Mohammad Billal Hossain (Population Science), Associate Prof. Dr. Sheikh Md. Mahmudul Islam (Electrical and Electronics Engineering), Prof. Dr. M. Rezaul Karim (Institute of Social Welfare and Research), and Prof. Dr. Md. Rakibul Haque (Management Information Systems).

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmad Khan congratulated the teachers for being included in the list of the world's top scientists, saying that this recognition not only highlights the extraordinary achievements of the teachers but also reflects Dhaka University's commitment to developing knowledge and creating a fair environment for education.

He expressed hope that this achievement will play an essential role in increasing the reputation of Dhaka University and achieving excellence in education and research.
