The hanging body of a student of Eden Women's College was found in a hostel in the capital's Hazaribagh area.

On information, police recovered the body of Pushpita Biswas, 21, an honours first-year student of the History department, from the hostel.

Pushpita, daughter of Ranjit Biswas hailed from Basakpara, Jamalpur Sadar Upazila. 

According to police, they found her body hanging from a ceiling fan on Friday night (January 17), at a student hostel located at a house in Hazaribagh area. 

The body was later sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue for an autopsy.

Hazaribagh Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Md. Jabbar confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

The reason behind the incident remains unclear, and investigations got underway for further details, he said.
