Uttara University signs MoU with Coppin State University

Uttara University has successfully hosted a groundbreaking seminar with Dr. Jamal Uddin, Professor and Founding Director of the Center for Nanotechnology, Department of Natural Sciences, Coppin State University, USA, as the distinguished Guest of Honor and Keynote Speaker. 

The seminar, held on January 21, 2025, underscored the university’s commitment to advancing academic and research collaborations on a global scale.

During the seminar, Prof. Dr Uddin delivered a captivating keynote address on the transformative potential of nanotechnology. 

His talk focused on the cutting-edge applications of nanotechnology in the fields of energy, health, and environmental sustainability, demonstrating how these innovations are poised to address some of the world’s most urgent challenges.

A highlight of the seminar was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Uttara University and Coppin State University, officially sealing the partnership. 

The MoU was signed in the presence of the Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr Eaysmin Ara Lekha, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr Gour Gobinda Goswami, and Prof. Dr Jamal Uddin. This agreement paves the way for future academic exchanges, joint research projects, and collaborative initiatives between the two institutions.

“We are thrilled to establish this important partnership with Coppin State University,” said Prof. Dr. Eaysmin Ara Lekha, Vice-Chancellor of Uttara University. 

“This collaboration will create new opportunities for our students and faculty, further enhancing our research capacity and promoting the development of innovative solutions through nanotechnology.”

The seminar was organized by the Department of Physics, Uttara University, and the Office of External Affairs and attracted a diverse audience of faculty members, students, and researchers. 

The successful signing of the MoU signals a new chapter in Uttara University’s efforts to strengthen its international presence and contribute to groundbreaking research in science and technology.

Uttara University looks forward to the exciting opportunities this partnership will bring, particularly in the areas of nanotechnology, sustainable energy, and health advancements.
