JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY: The university authorities expelled six students for different terms and served notice of warning to another over their involvement in separate incidents.

The decision came at a meeting of the university syndicate, held on Thursday night.

Students, who were expelled for six months, are Shamim of International Relation department, Menon of Law dept. and Imran, whose discipline could not be known immediately. All are the resident students of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall.

They were expelled for ragging (mentally torture) a student. Another student, Sojol, was given a warning notice in this connection.

The students, who were expelled for three months, are Sowmik and Kowshik of Public Administration department and Ishtiak of Zoology department. All are the resident students of Shaheed Rafiq-Jabbar Hall.

They were expelled for their involvement in a clash following the ragging at the campus.

On Sunday, students of Bangabandhu Hall and Rafiq-Jabbar Hall locked into clashes on the campus on the late night following a ragging incident, leaving three students injured.

Meanwhile, about a hundred students of the hall blocked the Dhaka-Aricha highway for two hours, protesting the expulsion.
