7 held over DU admission test forgery

DHAKA UNIVERSITY: Seven admission seekers were detained during admission tests for the first year honours in Dhaka University for their alleged involvement in forging in the examination with the help of mobile phones.

The students had been caught from examination centers at Badrunnesa College, Ideal College, Home Economics College and Government Laboratory High School and College.

Of the detainees five were identified instantly they are- Sanjana Binte Bashir, Faisal Kabir, Ahadur Rahman, Ariful Islam, Nurul Afsar Payel. 

Meanwhile, seven mobile phones were seized the detainees. 

The admission test of ‘Ga’ unit under Business Studies Faculty for the academic sessions 2014-15 was held on Friday.

AM Amjad Ali, Proctor of Dhaka University and Professor Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Business Studies confirmed the matter to banglanews. 

A case will be filed in this connection, AM Amjar Ali added. 

Some 50 students have fought against one seat to get admitted in Business Studies Faculty of Dhaka University under the academic session 2014-15.

A total of 49,976 students applied for 1170 seats under ‘Ga’ unit of the university this year.
