SYLHET: The authorities of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology suspended four students for assaulting an assistant proctor of the varsity.

The suspended students are- Ariful Haque Soni, fourth year student of Food Engineering and Tea Technology department, Mededi Hasan, third year student of Accounting department, Nazrul Islam, third year student of Social Welfare and Khalilur Rahman, second year student of same the department.

On October 18, the students assaulted Mirazul Islam, the Assistant Proctor of the varsity, when he tried to stop a clash among them.

Later on October 21, according to the recommendation of proctorial body, the university authorities, in a meeting, took the decision of suspension.
