DHAKA: The High Court (HC) issued court contempt rule against National University (NU) Vice Chancellor (VC) Dr Harun-or-Rashid as he denied its order.

An HC bench comprising Justice Farah Mahbub and Justice Kazi M Ejarul Haque Akondo passed the order on Monday and asked the VC to explain within 10 days.

Advocate Abdur Rob Chowdhury moved for the petitioner M Hafizur Rahman, lecturer (education) of NU.

Earlier, the university authorities suspended Hafizur. Later, in response to his plea, the HC passed order in favor of Hafizur. But, the varsity authorities denied the order preventing Hafizur to join work.
