RU (RAJSHAHI): Rajshahi University Teachers Association announced a work abstention for two hours on December 13 protesting the failure of police in arresting the killers of the university’s Sociology Department teacher AKM Shafiul Islam.

The teachers will boycott classes and examinations for two hours on the day.

The association general secretary Professor Pranab Kumar Pande confirmed the matter to banglanews Wednesday afternoon.

He said that 25 days have already passed after the murder of Shafiul Islam but police could not bring the criminals to justice.

Even then, police have failed to bring any allegation against the detainees, he added.

Pande further said that they will observe the abstention on December 13 demanding immediate arrest of the criminals.

On November 15, miscreants killed Professor AKM Shafiul Islam in Chouddapai area in Rajshahi city.
