Freshers’ reception at Green University

DHAKA: Orientation programs for the newly enrolled students of spring semester-2015 of Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) were held on January 14 and 17 at its auditorium in city.

Managing Director and also CEO of Mercantile Bank Ltd Mohammad Ehsanul Haque was present as the Guest of Honor at the program chaired by GUB vice-chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Golam Samdani Fakir.

The orientation program included introduction, presentation and briefing sessions, said a press release on Saturday.

The presentation session included academic systems and rules, advising and registration process, grading systems, result processing, necessary information about GUB and different clubs and co-curricular activities as well.

Dr Mohammad Golam Samdani Fakir welcomed the students and thanked the guardians for their trust in GUB.

Registrar of the university Lt Col (Retd) Mohammad Ali Ambial Haque Khan in his welcome speech highlighted the background and the objectives of the programs and welcomed the newly admitted students to the GUB.

He mentioned that they need to think critically and solve problems to develop their career. They also need to be competent in using English and computer to face the global challenges of 21st century.

He also expressed that he would like to see Green University graduates to be academically skilled, ethically driven and socially responsive citizens of the country.

GUB Treasurer Shahid Ullah, Director of Finance Ashraful Anower, Examinations Controller Professor SMK Nazmul Haque and chairpersons of EEE, English, DBA, CSE, Textile Engineering, FTDM and Law departments and newly admitted students, among others, were present in the programs.
